Which laser cutting machine to buy?

Hello all,

I am looking to start a small part-time business selling wedding invitation cards. I have a little bit of designing experience and am a quick learner. I am looking at the possibility of purchasing a laser cutting machine. I already have a laser printer - so will design the outer card using the laser cutting machine and print the inner inserts using my laser printer.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Can anyone recommend any good laser cutting machines? I would primarily be using it to cut on around 250gsm - 300gsm card.

How long would it take to cut a fairly simple design on an A5 size card?

Any ideas / recommendations would be much appreciated.

I am intrigued... why a laser cutter?? Sounds a little OTT to me.

The reason why I put laser cutter - was because it would give me great flexibility - so I can offer customers any style design and also would have the ability to laser cut the bride and grooms names.

Morning Oodya, Have you tried looking for what you want to achieve on YouTube. It's a great forum for learning about the equipment you want, and actually seeing it being used (and once you've found the equipment you want, you can then approach the person who put up the video for the answers you seek).
