Hi There,

I've recently started up a removals business and I'm struggling to find clients. I'd like to ask

1) Where do you advertise your services/look for work?
2) Do you use removals leads websites for work, if so what should i look out for?
3) Do you need social media and how do you network?

Many Thanks
Craig

Local company had a huge hoarding on one of the main roads onto town.

They also advertise on nextdoor, yell, local directories, facebook and so on. They also pay for leads with most of the local estate agents. Last time I spoke to him he reckons he spends about £1500/month on marketing.

I used to own a small removals company a decade or so ago. I advertised on a lot of various free websites, plus eBay, Craig’s list, Friday ads etc. I doubt I spent more than £300 pa on advertising.

A good website with loads of honest testimonials is what worked the best for myself, networking tended to be the wife spreading the word at various schools etc, and getting the message across of 100% reliability, no excuses.

Despite the mainly free advertising I also ensured I charged very well, a cheap price puts loads of people off as well. Social media I used to with agreement post unusual removal stories, like the time I collected a £25k tv for a millionaire, it would automatically turn to where the remote was for the best viewing angle.

Personally never bought a lead myself, such sites usually sell the lead to 3/4 companies, and it becomes a bidding war, race to the bottom IMO.

Advertise at all local self storage places.
Pay letting agents and estate agents to refer you to potential movers.
I also used eBay and leaflets through the doors of houses that had 'SOLD' signs outside.
