Where do u all get your stationery

wondering where everyone gets their stationery from ?
 
Printed stationary, we use print24.co.uk, very good prices on flyers, brochures, letterheads etc, as for the other stuff whoever's catalogue is to hand when we need it.

I say that because we're about to make some major changes and will need new stationary. At the moment we use a small, local, independent printers because (they're local and they're independent and) they are very flexible and friendly indeed.

They're also cheap - but not the cheapest - but their value-for-money is great.

Doesn't everyone do it that way?!?!? :eek:

I use prontaprint for printing - but for office stationery I use myself!!! :D

My sister in law has her own print and design company. If I don't buy my stationery from her I get grief from the wife :eek: Anything for a quiet life!

Don't forget that some of the cheaper printed stationery items tend to be printed in 4 colours mixed. If you have a spot colour logo and like consistency then it is important to print these in the spot colours which may be more expensive. Also if you are doing a small print run say 1,000 letterheads and you need some comp slips then you could be smart and use up the printed sheet and have some A5 paper as well which could be bound into some pads. I personally would recommend Michelle over at Kall Kwik Newcastle who is local to you and should be able to help.

Print is a funny game really. There are so many people offering cheap deals, but it is a bit of a mine field when it comes to quality.

Who ever you decide to use, make sure that they have a lot of customer testimonials. This is quite a good way to judge any business anyway. I have just uploaded some of ours onto our front page, we have nearly 200 now. www.mkprinting.co.uk

Also when you get quotes off companies ask them to include VAT, delivery, upload fees, file handling, file checking, logo/strap line removal and order status updates. Many print companies don't include these prices (we do) and therefore the difference between what you are quoted and what the actual price is, is rather a lot!

We also do online discount office supplies - we supply quite a few UKBF members on the forum. If its printed stationery you are looking for then i have read several good things on the forum about Ray at a localprinter, here - as i say we only offer the general stationery like paper, files, envelopes etc but its there if you are looking.

Have to agree with Peter, litho is still the way forward if you are at all serious about your company image. Although digital these days has improved enormously, it still can't compete with litho for colour accuracy. However, if you're on a very tight budget, and only need a small printing run then digital is perfectly acceptable in certain cases.

I was thinking about litho for business cards (quality) and cheap digital for compliment slips and letterheads.

Personally I find VistaPrint UK the best...BUT if you are ordering from them then use an email address that is disposable, eg a hotmail address, because they will hit you with "offers", which are very good, but can fill your inbox.

To give you an example I have just ordered some professional looking business cards, because I was sent one those emails with an "exclusive offer", and I will be receiving 250 cards for £4, which is not bad. Plus they do offers for t-shirts, brochures, car magnets and so forth for about the same price.
