I'm looking to print 1000 cards (300gsm) both sides full colour and 5000 compliment slips and letterheads (90gsm) single sided full colour.

we buy from office depot and viking product are good and we can also buy online. they also do printing

It all depends on what you are looking for. If it is just printing and you have the artwork in a press ready format already you may want to use a internet based printer. However the downside to that is that if there is any problem with the artwork you supplied it is your look out. This can can be anything from a spelling mistake to a bug in the file.

On the other hand if you go to a shop based printer you get everything done for you.

When a customer comes to us a Modern Print in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, we don't just design the job for you, we give you a choise of 3/4 logos to chose from all created from scratch. We then show you proofs of the job which you can change in any way you want. Most importantly we give you advice and take responsability for everything. We even call you after the job is delivered to make sure you are happy.

If you want any impartial advice just call. We are only interested in the printing market in West Wales so I have no axe to grined.

Hi ann,

 Digital prints are printed as the name would suggest using high quality digital printers. These are ideal if you need your prints in a hurry or are only requiring short print runs, lower quantities etc. Litho printing is printed using high grade print presses. Offset four colour printing for example uses four colour plates - Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (black). Litho gives far superior print quality when compared to digital prints but are best suited to high quantity print runs.

For best result we'd suggest Litho printing onto 120gsm for stationery (letter heads and compliment slips) and a thicker stock paper of 300gsm or upwards for business cards.

I've been told that digital print is much cheaper for smaller quantities but the quality is worse

Quality is not so much of an issue, it depends on the digital printer.

I would be happy to give you a price and supply samples. Also there are plenty of happy people on the site with the digital print of mine.

Probably it's easy to notice for professional but not for ordinary people

Hey ... thought i'd add my piece, rather than starting a new thread ... sorry to jump on.

I'm looking for DL size flyers, printed on one side about 500 to begin with.
Any ideas the best place/prices?

I also need some mailshot letters printed on head paper.

I will have a look through the list on this thread also when I get a spare 5 mins from my editing.

I will be happy to give you a price tomorrow, when i am back at work.

The DL mailers are going to be quite cheap, will need some more details about the personalised letter for a price for them.

i was just wondering where people get their stationery from (pens, pencil's ect)
Just doing a bit of research where people buy from net or catalog as we only do catalog at the moment but wondering if we should set up the website for this too

sorry should have been more clear i am a printer,graphics design and stationery company.
