When did businesses stop wanting to sell things?

Rapids

Sometimes, I think I'm just incredibly unlucky with who I manage to find myself dealing with. I can't believe how many people don't bother getting back to me when they clearly sell the products I need... this last person said he'd get back in touch with me about his returns policy - something I have to ask as I need them sent directly to the consumer on plain notes. If you haven't found your returns policy in 9 days, you probably haven't got a returns policy!

Meanwhile, if there are any racking and plastic box suppliers lurking about on here... and you don't mind me asking perfectly legitimate questions, do let me know.

Yeah Rapids you do have a point. Some businesses give really bad service and you wonder how they are in business at all. I think as business continues to become ever more competetive these companies will fall by the wayside.

I completely understand I have been chasing quotes for various things and majority of people never get back to me! Even though I then end with less options I never call them back and try to make a point of never asking again as I feel it's poor service right from initial contact.

Those that do bother to reply (even if they are unsuitable in one instance) I have a book of contacts that I jot them down in and I often contact them again for future business. :)

I agree they'll probably fall by the wayside. Unless they've secured huge contracts, but even those have a renewal date.

Dubes, I like your idea of noting the companies that have replied in a timely manner. That should encourage most companies to respond. I find it difficult not to chase people after I've given them the time, but you're quite correct it's merely demostrating poor service on their part.

I agree, and have had the same problem with some suppliers. It's short-sighted, too, because nowadays if we experience poor service, we're quite likely to talk about it here or on Twitter or Facebook or another social network. So there disappointing service will whiz around the world in no time.

Completely agree it is anoying when suppliers or potential suppliers don't phone back or email, it doesnt show there business in a good light if there pre-sales support is that bad what will their after-sales support be like.

I have a personal policy of if someone doesnt get back to me when they say they will, I wont buy from them.

The only thing more anoying than not getting back to you is having voice mail,
