What's the time limit to request an Audit?

As a shareholder owning 20%. Not a Director. I am aware I have the right to ask for an Audit of the Company accounts before they are filed. Am I correct that the request must be made within one month of the deadline to file? or is it prior to one month? And if the accounts have been filed early by two weeks, does that prevent a request for the Audit?

No you are not correct. The request must be made at least one month before the end of the financial year concerned. S476 CA 2006.

A part of the reason for this is for the auditor to be able to audit the stock take. Namely be able to check the count is correct.

In regard to 'must deposit a notice in writing at the company's registered office'. Section 476 makes no mention of how the request must be made. Therefore an email if sent to the Directors is acceptable presumably?

Accounts Audit

Hi, I would like to request that an audit is carried out under section s476 of the company act 2006. Can someone point me to a template with the correct way of doing this. I don't want it to be refused or ignored. I believe that it will highlight failures within the company. Thanks
