What websites do you visit every day?

And what keeps you going back?

Increasingly I'm finding that sites I always enjoyed have moved towards clickbait-style headlines or have changed their content strategy to "so-and-so said this on Twitter earlier"

I rarely use Facebook anymore (seems to just be a lot of videos and ads), which two years ago was probably where I spent most of my time online. I like Wired for their tech stories, The Outline for their long reads and Netflix for when I want to lose most of my evening.

Is there anything you've stuck with for a couple of years, or does it chop and change? Obviously let's exclude UKBF from this, because I know it's your number 1 destination. Oh AND let's keep it clean please, to our more smutty-minded members :p

BBC
Cricinfo
Startups
My football club's fans forum
Twitter
Facebook
LinkedIn

BBC, Cricinfo and My footie club's forum should be self evident why I visit.

Twitter as I follow two or three gin distillers and I can find out what's new and good

LinkedIn I feel obliged to look in on occasionally although it's more like a bunfight and self promotion fest

Facebook I keep restricted to a handful of friends and overseas family so I can watch my young relatives growing up. I don't waste time reading the same shares on everyone's page though

Interestingly I visit Facebook now more often than I used to, I used to frequent Linked In groups but they became infused with links to blog posts - but I find the 'professional' groups on Facebook well moderated.
So good moderation is key to any community, point for UKBF to remember.

Obviously there are a whole group of 'transactional' websites ( banking, email, monitoring etc ) but I'm excluding those as they are specific to individual needs / businesses.

    ukbusinessbrokers.com
Various news sites - on the political left and right
Various financial & economics news sites
Zerohedge - "On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero"
Various business for sale and business broker websites
    LinkedIn
Spamcop - I submit all "spam" that gets through my detection filters (and emails that I simply don't like).

I diligently avoid sites like the below (or clean myself of all cookies after I've been to them):
    Google (and Google services)
Microsoft and MS services (including Outlook)
Facebook (on rare occasions because some idiot decided to host his business site at FB rather than on an independent domain)

Sites I'd like to visit more often:
    Reddit and TheRegister
Salty Droid - the nightmare site for internet marketers (and other scammers :p )
KrebsOnSecurity - an IT/online security site
The sometimes quite funny legal site, RollOnFriday
And if you want a laugh and are on an untrusted free wifi somewhere, there's always Shodan

The only site I visit on a regular basis without fail is BBC News.

It's one of the very few news sites out there where the left/right bias isn't annoyingly obvious.

And before anyone comes along and tells me that I'm missing some blindingly obvious bias - really, compared to most, it's not bad at all.

I honestly can't stand news publications that try to pander to political stances in such a conspicuous way that they almost wear it as a badge of honour - even if it's a political stance I'm fully on board with.

I think I visit YouTube way too often. The information abundance inside is astonishing, and I watch it during my break, when I eat, when I’m waiting for something or someone, mostly all the time.

I also visit Google to search for random data, books and random info I need.

    I think that’s about it.

Facebook simply because of what happened in Zimbabwe, my friends and relatives are scattered around the world, on a trip to Oz and NZ last year stayed with friends in every major centre (Yup - cheapskate) and this is a very simple way to keep in touch.
    BBC News
    The Mail

As soon as I log on to my laptop, I load up my gmail, Google+ and Youtube as well as UKBF, the only thing is I find myself watching pointless vids on YT instead of work :D and I dont have facebook or twitter, but as I am just starting up everyone say I need too, but I just dont like them sites, so I might get someone else to do it for me
