Hi,

I just wanted to find out what tools (if any) people use to spy on their competitors online.

I've used Google Alerts, SpyFu, Yahoo Site Explorer and a few others to keep an eye on what others are doing with their online marketing.

Does anyone else have any other recommendations?

Thanks

Jamie

Have either of you had any trouble with MS recently? ie Taking an age to pull data through and sometimes just not getting any all together?

Yea!!!! It's so bad I use the Google KWT to get the data before feeding them into MS for SEO competition... Very annoying, and they took their forum offline so we can't complain about it. Wish there was a good web based version cause this "air" version is getting way way too memory heavy

Thank god its not just me! I've given up on it to be honest - couldn't even get the SEO Competition module to pull in anything yesterday.

Especially because its turned into a memory hog (it makes my computer slower than sleeping sloth).

If anyone knows of anything similar I'd be interested to hear about it. I've just signed back up with SEOMoz for a month to try out their serp analysis tool - not had a chance to play with it yet though.

I mainly use an army of Filipinos and Yahoo Site Explorer. Sort my competitors backlinks and email every single one of them.

I use a tool called ‘Keyword Country’ to monitor my competitors’ Internet marketing strategy. I get alerts when they change their SEO or PPC strategy. Not just this, the tool also lets me rip off my rivals’ most profitable keywords responsible for upto 96% of its website traffic. I am all for it :)
