Well SEO would be a good place to start. I couldn't find your existing site anywhere in Google.

Do you have a link to your existing site so we could have a snoop?

Also, loading times. Your site (viewable via your signature) has 2 2Mb files on the home page as images and another 0.5Mb. This will take over 15 minutes for a 56k user to load. Based on the image, you could change them to 10-15k easily, as you've put them only as thumbnails.

Cheers Tom :D! And that's put me off already. I'm not even a 56kb user - slower than that. It'd take more than 15 mins!

Without wanting to be too blunt, I would recommend a complete overhaul.

If you are going to give out business cards etc and advertise the website you want it to be something that impresses people. Some money spent upfront on a good company image (website, business cards, letterheads) can make all the difference IMO.

Hmmm the homepage doesn't make me want to hire your services. I thought the text size on my browser must've been set to largest but the font really is that big! Can't say the colour scheme is doing much for me either.

But you're not after a review are you?! I'd say focus on image. Look at the competition and see how they're doing things.

Hope that helps!

Usability is the most important thing (IMHO)

Try to get into the mind of your user, they know nothing about you/your service. Make your proposition obvious

Don't be cleaver, dumb it down use simple technologies, use simple words and language

One of my managers said once 'write it so that my mum could understand it' (She wasn't a MIT undergrad by the way)

Simple - Clear - Good navigation - No gimicks (spash screens, flash etc) and hits of course!
