Hi All,

Can anyone suggest a good voiceover artist?

I have a small job consisting of 7-8 prompts for a telephone system.

Looking for a professional & friendly style.

Any reccomendations?

Thanks

A friend of mine does some of this when he is not busy doing some work for the flog-it quick TV channels. Can ask if he would be interested...

Out of sheer interest, how much does it cost for some of the above voiceover artists(?) and how does that compare in terms of cost for a 'celeb voice' - Is there much in it? Obviously dependant on so many varients.

Pricing varies depending on use, IVR recordings for the telephone are around £25 to £40 per message, radio & TV spots cost more and have repeat fees if played more than the agreed amount. Celebs are on a sliding scale depending on how much of a star they are.

If your business is planning on using radio or TV advertising in the future it is a good idea to signup a young actor/actress to act as the "voice" of your business. For a couple of hundred a year you might get lucky if they become famous and you have them under contract.

There is quite a lot of difference between hiring a celebrity voice and an unknown - unknowns usually charge from £150 per studio session, whereas celebrity voices can cost thousands (depends on the celebrity, of course!).

Costs also vary depending on whether you are looking for someone with their own studio or not. With costs more, without costs less...naturally.

I work as a voiceover and am registered with MBA - I can't post the URL but if you google Mahoney Bannon Associates you will find them easily - although they deal with actors and not specifically voices, they do have wide variety of professional voiceovers available, so would be worth contacting. It would be a good idea for you to know the kind of voice you are looking for before you call - gender, young/mature, bright/husky/serious etc - as this will help them to help you quickly and efficiently. They will be able to give you links to their actors' Spotlight pages, where you can hear voice clips, so decide if you like them before you buy.

I hope that helps.

PS Doing it yourself is never as easy as you think...so ignore the post which said that!

Check out Guy Harris, he does loads of TV programs and adverts but does great rates on things like what your after, as for things like that he can do it from his home studio. www.voiceoverguy.co.uk and while your there have a play on his audio snap, it had me hooked for about half an hour first time I came across it :P

He is also a radio dj for Real radio and does most of their voice overs I think.

Just realised I might have been sounding a tad too enthusiastic but he's a customer of mine and is always a blast when he comes in the office and really do rate the stuff he does.

Plenty of us use voipfone.co.uk for our VOIP services, they also do voice overs too. If their service on the VOIP is anything to go by then the voice overs would also be great. And cheap!

We have a professional female voice over artist who can do this for you.

The price would be £30-£40. The recording(s) can be produced and delivered in your preferred format.

She can do whatever style suits your brand (corporate, friendly, passionate, cheeky, etc).

Hear her in action - listen to our IVR: 0844 745 1915

PM me if you're interested.

Forgive me if i'm 'lowering the tone' but would a voiceover artist do a 'sexy adult phoneline voice' if someone wanted them to? I'm in no way meaning myself but you see those adverts on TV for 'women in your area'.

I can't see why not - I suppose it depends on whether the voiceover artist is happy to do that kind of work. :)

Thank you for the recommendations. I would be happy to help provide you with a voice over.

If you check my web site you will see I can help you out with character voices too.

Prices vary from job to job but I can say you will be very happy with the product and the price too.

I look forward to being able to help.

Best Wishes

Guy

Would you REALLY want the actor that does the voice over on Little Britain as the first voice people hear when they call your 'professional' company???
