Hi Everyone

I am hoping you can help give me some advice. I am looking to start a Virtual Assistant business offering small business and sole traders administrative support, virtually. I have over 10 years experience in debt collection and management.

Have you ever been offered or used this service by a Virtual Assistant? Do you think this is service that would set me apart from the rest? Do you think it is a service that small businesses would used and happily pay for?

Thank you all in advance.

Hi Charlene

I feel you might be confusing slightly by using the VA title, why not settle for debt management?

What you will find is that - a bit like insurance - many businesses won’t put a value on the service until they have bitter experience, though you do currently have an excellent point of reference!

Also, most will view your role as collections, so it is worth creating a few case studies showing the real value of an end to end process

There is definitely a need and a market, good luck!

Agree that you should forget about the VA tag (that's for admin type work).

I'd avoid debt management too (to me that sounds like you're going to be helping people to consolidate their debts, IVAs etc).

I'd go with 'credit control service for small businesses' or something similar.

Yes I agree with the above - sounds like secretarial task VA. Virtual Credit Controller / Debt Manager sounds more like it. I am sure companies would pay for that to cover holidays / maternity etc usually Agency staff are brought in so if you can cut out the middle man it should work.
