Good evening everyone,
Things are getting a little out of hand here.
People are getting a little hot headed and turning this into a personal slanging match and I think we need to get things back on track.
Let's start again. My comments to Bombaldi were meant in a positive way, posters gain more credibility when they reveal themselves rather than when they use an "alias". My point is simple, people will trust you more and listen to you closer when they know who you are. Anonimity breeds suspicion - that's just human nature.
As this forum is about sharing experiences and supporting one another, credibility and openness is paramount. If Bombaldi wishes to remain anonymous, that's up to him or her, but it may weaken how people perceives the poster. I hope that ends this saga.
In reply to MSlater's comments regarding me "owning" the forum, that's quite amusing, it is actually a commercially owned forum of Sift Media. I have no shares in their company, nor a seat on their Board. I came to be a Moderator because I was invited to be by the Chairman of this Forum. I have been an active member of this forum getting on for three years and during that time have helped dozens of individuals get their businesses back on track, give marketing help and ideas, advise on claiming compensation, avoid being ripped off and to give enormous awareness of the needs for due dilligence and research before you transact business with any individual or company.
Contrary to your beliefs, I have gained very little personally from this involvement and the amount of time and effort I have expended in giving this level of help and support. It is easy to be cynical as that is human nature. Believe me the amount of commitment it takes to moderate this busy forum is enormous, so why do I do it?
I choose to do it because I am passionate about my industry and franchising, and I want to make a difference. I would hope my nearly three years of commitment to this Forum and its members illustrates this. Maybe this is why the Chairman invited me to be even more involved.
Does my involvement with the Forum benefit my business? Definately, but for the right reasons. Do I delete negative comments about my company? Never have, never will.
In other words, all I am doing is exactly what I am advising Bombaldi to do which is have the courage and confidence in who you are and what you do and publicly state your name. Individuals can check me out, my company, my accounts and my history. To be as open as this is a sign of my openess and willingness to be checked out. I have no skeletons.
This is not a defense, as I have nothing to defend. It is purely my background.
Now let's move forward.
