VAT invoice query

Hi,

I need some advice on a VAT invoice I have been issued.

It was for a job lot of goods from a closed down business and it shows just 'Stock, fixtures and fittings' and the totals of the goods, VAT and total amount, but doesn't detail the goods I actually received. The invoice has all the other requirements of a VAT invoice.

Will this be accepted by the taxman for the purposes of reclaiming this input tax for this invoice or am I likely to run into trouble?

Thanks in advance!

One of the things a VAT invoice must show is 'a description sufficient to identify the goods or services supplied to the customer' - I would have said the description was sufficient.
