A Facebook link to UTLUU.com shows clearance prices on camera equipment including amongst other things a JVC GY-HC500U 9.35MP 4K UHD Handheld Connected Camcorder, 20x Optical Zoom, 40x Dynamic Zoom...........reduced from £2215.68 to £58.13 with tons of other items at similar silly prices!

A scam or genuine factory clearance?

As above they are a bunch of scammers and in fact on some scam buster sites seem be trolling people who have "outed" them. Personally I would steer clear.

I wasn't intending to buy from them, having ordered a £25, RRP £45, folding wooden Laptop stand from a similar type of advertisement a few months ago. After a month I was sent a small plastic one about 6" long - but by then had cancelled the payment.

Shouldn't Facebook take more responsibility for who they allow to advertise?

True, but doesn't not doing so reduce consumer confidence in all their bona fide advertisers as well!
I quite often report adverts on facebook, they post on the local sites, the favourite one at the moment are 2 seemingly independent people asking "I saw an ad on here for free spins on an online casino, does anybody remember the link" and a helpful person responds "oh yeah, I did it myself and won $10,000 after just one spin! Here is the link: <insert scam link here>"

I'd be very surprised is anyone clicked on the links, but I have been surprised over less, so I expect they make some money, not that the $$ is a give away as it's not even in our currency.

Hey ho, as long as people take the bait scammers will keep on doing what they do.

Foolishly ordered from Facebook - who seem to have more scams than genuine ads - during a bit of Lockdown blues. Immediately tried to cancel via the above email. Got quick response asking me not to. In further comms was told it was 'custom and being made' so couldn't refund. Then one saying it was ready for dispatch several weeks ago. When I queried non delivery a few days ago got response saying it was 'out of stock and they would refund' which they have. So a lot of mixed and conflicting messages but they do reply to emails and finally did the right thing. Looks like a scam in most respects but then why give money back??
