two year contract but feel I've been misled

Hope someone may be able to help me as I'm not sure where I stand.

I signed a two year contact with a company called cnetwork to advertise in my local post office.
The advert was to be played on screen at regular intervals advertising my small PC business.
When visited by the salesman I was informed, once the post office has your advert online, call in and see the postmaster and introduce yourself, and you will be able to put goods such as business cards on display.

To be honest this was a sealing sales pitch and sounded ideal to me to have a visual cue on the screen backed up by the cards almost giving the impression we were endorsed by the PO although I was well aware this was not the case.

Alas this was untrue and although the advert is up and running ,the post office would not allow the cards to be on display. And looked dismayed by my confident claims, leaving me feeling a little foolish.

The matter was not resolved by cnetwork, so I do not want to continue my contact and have told them so.

They have said you have a two years written contract which supersedes any verbal agreement. So you have to pay.

I feel this is unfair. And I'd rather go to court, than pay the next installments, but do I have a fighting chance.:|

This is a common ploy by these companies. They dont work, they know they dont work and tie you into a 2 year contract so they know they will get something out of it.
I signed up but would not sign for the 2 years, only one and had it written into the contract.
So glad I did because I did not get one single lead from it the whole year.
This is a warning to all, stay away from these types of advertising. It has worked for some, but very few.

Have you checked the terms and conditions, maybe there is a get out clause? Good Luck anyway.

Afraid the contract has me tied up, but I'll still have my day in court if need be.

You can not allow salesmen to lie and entrap without at least some resistance.
If I pay extra then so be it

I'll also try and drum up some adverse publicity if I can, maybe save someone also going down this road.{backing up what Panda has said}

Afraid I have taken this one personal.
