Twin Label Printer - Use Wirelessly?

I would like to purchase this twin label printer:

The problem is I generally work from my MacBook so I would like to be able to use this wirelessly.

If I plugged the printer in to my Windows XP PC and set it up would I then be able to share it with my MacBook and print wirelessly?

I see it mentions printer sharing in the description but I've never used this so not entirely sure how it works.

If the printer supports wireless connectivity you should be able to access it from any computer on your shared network. The specs do denote that it's Mac applicable, however, I'd be more worried about whether your version of Windows is compatible. Most likely it's but I've had problems in the past with making modern devices play nice with older Windows OS'.

I don't know about macs (as i've never used them) but if you had it plugged into one pc and then had a pc laptop then yes you could use it shared (but still wireless print server best way to go so you don't need the 2nd pc on)

For that print server to work do you simply plug it in to the label printer and it is then available over wireless? Or does the print server also need hard wired to the modem? If it needs connected to the modem this wouldn't work for me as the printer will be in a different room.

The PC is always on so that wouldn't be an issue if I went that route. From what I can see I think it should work this way. You are able to share printers with a Mac/PC on the same network.

I might test it out with a regular printer later to be on the safe side though the print server might be the best option anyhow.

No the wireless print server just plugs into the printer and the modem/router connects to the print server wirelessly

As previously mentioned in the thread, a very good idea would be to connect the said LabelWriter to a router via a print server. The LabelWriter is not a network device in itself, hence the need for a print server. DYMO makes its own so it is sure to work.

In theory, sharing a printer over Wi-Fi between an XP and OS X is possible but it depends on the configuration of the computers and the network. What you need to do is described well here: tinyurl.com/kuwjlr.
