I check my sites google rankings and could not believe it ..Page one in the UK ..!!!!
Wow !! but then I think how come the phones not ringing I then checked my blackberry without the WI FI sure enough page 10 :(

So I did not not get £8000 pounds worth of SEO work for £200.00 .:(
Why do some computers save the most visited pages then put them on page 1 of your own computer to make you think your on page one nationwide ?

You might of been logged in to Google Analytics. Happens to all of us from time to time. You do a quick check and you're sitting in second place behind B&Q only to do the same test again in the evening and you're down on page three.

Mainly it may be due to the cookies, that store your earlier search results and when you search them again, it displays them in the top. Or it may be due to the location. In your region, it may be in the top. But, in a wi-fi network, it may be in the later pages.

alternatively add &pws=0 to the search string and that will get rid of any customisations. With a lot of search toolbars you can set this as a standard search so you do not have to type it in everytime!

disabling customisations does work in part but I've still found some personalised searches.

pws=0 guarantees that you will not get any customisations - via your google account, location, cookies etc

It really anoys me how they do this, that's why i always check my rankings using chrome incognito because it doesnt store or use cookies/cache
