Dear daiso

It seems you've taken a bit of a battering in this thread! Best of luck to you in your hunt for a job.

Anyway, with tongue firmly in cheek, I think this sums up the whole thread:

Enjoy!

Jeff

Jeff, thank you so much. You would not believe - this song is about me totally. I love the lyrics. :)

But I will get a job - like common people! :p

Hiya Dayso!
You seem a bit desperate asking the job in here! Don't waste your time, just work on the schedule Peter has provided for you ;)
I'm actually in a bit similar position as you, no I don't have a rich dad, but I am graduating this year in Business and Finance (no I'm not 22, I'm 30) and was thinking to apply to the graduate jobs. What I want to ask- what University you graduated from? If you will notice on the "Profiles" of the big companies (the big 4 and others) all the previous years graduates are from Oxford and Cambridge or similar level, applying to Finance positions, while they studied Music or Languages and they get that Finance place!!!! That's what I never understood! However, since my University is in the rating place of top best unies somewhere in between 50-80 place, I decided to not go for graduate job, but get a real job with the accountants or large organization finance department. I've been lucky to have a work placement as a finance intern for a year with one international company, and they have offered me a graduate position once I will complete my studies!
I want you to wish all the best and I would suggest you to subscribe to accountancystudents dot com forums rather than here I think it would be more appropriate for your case and you could discuss your ACCA etc! x

LOL! I know. Yes, Peter gave very good advice. Starting tomorrow I'm an official job seeker (without the govt allowance of course! :p)
Lucky you got a graduate job. Can you see me turning green? :)

why do I need diplomas to be successful? I have employed 17 people at the age of 19

If you did own a Merc SL500, and you were bright, and you had bed 150 women by the age or 18 or 19.. i would drive it to the hospital, get checked out for STD;s and ask the nurse to show you how to use your designer phone in order to take a picture of you, your staff and your merc and your latest trophy girl

Back in the real world, I will settle for 1 wife, and comfortable honest living

Don't mistake that for a lack of ambition. I have been at the top, had the Merc etc. etc. My wife had a business turning over millions. Circumstances change things, and what is important to you one day can vaporise overnight

(dont have a RTA)

These are wise words - especially the one wife part! :)

I dont want to spend daddy's money, I dont want to marry u!

I WANT A JOB! Maybe you can offer me one?! I'm great, I'm a fast learner and I always get good results. School prefect, student union rep, you name it - I did it all. I just want a job now!

You want a job with me?
Then you've might have one.

Don't expect it to be some fairytale, it's hard, dirty, long hours, no glamour, you'll end up muscles on your muscles, drive 50-70K+ a year and those are the best bits.

Still interested? Call me, slackers don't enjoy their very brief stay.;)

Why is everyone being nasty to DancingWithPoodles???

He is kind - giving jobs to the unemployed!

I think the general perception is that he is a dreamer and is not to be believed. I have only read a few of his posts and am not intending malice, just genuinely wondering what business he owns as 17 staff at age 19 is very impressive. If true.

I'm still slightly in shock... but something may just turn up. Fingers (and toes) crossed. x

Do your homework and call me back. Don't rush it…I like people who understand what they are talking about (the next chat will tell me if you really understand what you are talking about and that is so important – we are talking much much much more depth than telesales!!!!!!!!!! Don’t get this bit wrong, take your time), all the info is there, that's just a stage 1 but all credit to you got off your bum.

How on earth could you doubt him? Serial entrepreneur, ladies man, choclatier and Mercedes driver, Dancing wif Poods is a classic.
We get one here every six moths or so. Variations include Bentley rather than Merc, super ninja hacking powers, and Mumsy rather than Papa being a property developer. Always included are invisible commercial empires, a horde of deflowered sacrificial maidens and an ego unsullied by the grubbiness of reality.
I worship at their feet.

The people on this forum are jealous of my new friend Dancingwithpoodles, simply because he is a 'go-getter', a serial 'entrepreneur' and a bit of a babe magnet by all accounts.

They sit there in their comfy grandad armchairs with their laptop on their knee, and a hot chocolate beside them, wondering why they had not thought of the things DWP has in his short life, or had the plums to take the risks he has.

By this time next year, me and him will be oil billionaires I reckon, and its all down to DWP, with me simply providing the transport.

So, take their abuse of this guy with a pinch of salt, it is nothing but the green eyed monster raising his evil head :)

And now I know you have lost the plot oh dearest one!!

Actually, poor DWP has dropped himself in it - he repeats a couple of pages ago (minus abuse) exactly what was on my mystery email the other night. And yet again, he hides behind junk email addresses not giving a name - coward!!

Hi Daiso,

Good luck with the job hunt and I hope you find something. As for your initial idea of going into business for yourself with your online shop idea - if you've done the research into whether it'll work and are prepared to work hard to make it happen then go for it. Starting your own business is tough, but I guess that's why the potential rewards can be so great to.

I decided to work for myself after realising that if I wanted to move forward in my industry and get the benefits, then I had to go out and grab them for myself.

Well Daiso at least £6.50 is higher than minimum wage so it could be worse :) If you start your own business you'll be on significantly less for around 18 months :p

Hope you have figured out about DancingWithPoodles and looked at some of his other threads........we're all still waiting with baited breath for the photo of him with his car, eating handmade chocolates whilst surrounded by hundreds of stunnng woman! :D

What does your "husband" do by the way? Just intrigued as you say you still rely on your dad.......

Hubby is a barrister.

I do not still rely on my dad as such. My dad just made sure that I will be OK in the future.

Daiso: write and keep writing. You will have a perspective on life that is different to most other peoples' and which many people will find fascinating. People will want to read what you say because they will want to escape from their world into yours. (Never mind that you're also seeking an escape of sorts, it just makes it all the more fascinating)

Write anything: journals, short stories, novels, practise writing articles and try your luck at sending them off. Write about the businesses you're trying to run now and what businesses you would like to run in the future.

There will be a point when you will be less interested in writing about your viewpoint and want to explore other people's. Even more fascinating. The greatest early resources will be in your family, not just your dad or your hubby (they will be interesting. It's not easy to build up a business like your father has done) but your mum too.

I'll qualify this advice just a little. Write if you enjoy writing. I suspect you will. If you find it doesn't interest you, perhaps it's the wrong time and it will be something you enjoy more later in life.

This is serious and honest advice.

That's great advice. I used to write a LOT in the past. I was published in a national newspaper too. Then I sent a story to a competition... Was longlisted and shortlisted but did not win. So, I stopped for a while.

I know Tej will come back and say 'What have you not done in your life?'

But Thank you for the advice. I will certainly go back to writing.

I told him to quit and get into business, he just won't listen to me.

:)

I wonder why not.?:|

A little-know lawyer emerged today as the highest-paid legal aid barrister in the country, receiving more than £1.1 million in a year.
Balbir Singh, who has never been made a QC, was paid £1,116,000 in 2005 to 2006, according to figures released today by the Ministry of Justice.
The former magistrates' clerk is the only non-QC in the top 10 of the highest-paid barristers from criminal legal aid work only and has beaten more prestigious rivals in the pay league.

Bit of private work on top of that lot,and one could be sitting pretty.:D
