T & Cs window cleaning company

Hi, I have an A4 page of T&Cs for my window cleaning company and was wondering if anyone could take a look and check them over for me to make sure all is good and nothing important is missing or incorrect...

Obviously money is tight as I am just starting up but want to get it right from the start.

Hi Phil,

It’s always nice to see people thinking about all aspects of their business at the start, we’d say carry on with this approach.

Looking at your question, we'd also say that you actually have a number of options we think. To get terms you have written checked and then to try and include anything critical to how you want to do things is likely to be a more expensive option. There are template options on the internet that you can now download for free that have some bespoke elements. Alternatively if you’d like to talk to someone who will then create a bespoke set of terms for you, there are companies that provide set fees for this or some that don’t and you get a rough estimate and then a bill at the end!

One of the main points that we’d consider, is whether you are providing to consumers (general public) or businesses, as the rights you must give (e.g. cancellation) is much much tighter for consumers. You may provide to both? Which may mean 2 sets of terms or 1 more complicated set.

I am happy to have a look over your current terms and make some recommendations with no obligation.

I appreciate you are just starting out but this is something that is really worth investment. It ultimately lays out your whole business process and can be the difference in securing future contracts or losing them. As above poster has stated there is a difference between commercial and domestic cleans.

T&C's for a tenner a month window cleaning service, I'm sure you can think of some more barriers to put between you and the client. What about charging late payment fees and call back charges if their car is in the way of the windows.

Estwig - you miss the point. Phil's service will be covered by terms of contract its just that , without his own set of T&Cs, they will be imposed by the law and will not protect him as much as his own terms. Its reckless to run a business without your own T&Cs.
