I have a basic understanding of Refunds/Returns and what i have to offer from reading an article on the .gov website. But im struggling with actually writing a policy for myself.

Also having the same problem with my terms and conditions.

I was hoping to find some templates to simply copy, or maybe even use another sites policys, but this doesn't feel right to me

Typically you would purchase a standard small business legal pack of terms which you then modify for your own needs, ideally getting it checked over by legal afterword.

Alternatively you can "take inspiration" from a number of different sources, ideally getting it checked over by legal afterword.

Both have problems and risks, there's not one-size-fits all, will take some work either way.

Writing policies yourself can be an exhausting task.

Taking inspiration from the T&Cs of similar companies isn't cheating, if they've been going for a while they've worked out the type of terms that need stating. Learn from their experience. Boiling it all down to the scenarios you expect to encounter can help you to get an initial framework and you can then write it out in as formal wording as you can.

If your time for this task is limited, either get a template (some are free, others cost a small amount) or get a legal firm to write them for (expensive but saves a lot of time and future head ache if you have complicated terms).

I compiled some polices from e-commerces like boohoo, argos, h&m and re-created using a different layout (dashboard, big numbers, easy to read and understand). It could inspire people to create "easy to read" return and refund policies. Can I have your thoughts on that? smrthings.com

Thank you.

My advice would be to make sure that it stands up to legal scrutiny but a keep it as simple as possible so that your customers understand your policies in clear, simple language.
