Hi all - I have a quick question about being around great people.
I'm a big believer that you perform and behave like the five people you spend most of your time with.
Next month I'm leaving my job in M&A, one of the best (if not the best) independent mid-market M&A advisory firm in the UK. I'm leaving to go self-employed so working from home and remotely. I'll be providing research services on smaller transactions, this enables me to spend more time on my recently started company, which I one day hope to be my main source of income. Anyway...
The firm I currently work for is full of great people, top people to be around - hard working, entrepreneurial, fun, knowledgeable, great personalities etc.
One of main concerns of when I go self-employed is that I won't be around this group anymore, some of which make up 3/4 spaces of the top 5 people I spend most time with.
Is anyone else a believer in this or at the very least conscious of this theory? How do you make sure you're around great people which push you / your business / help you learn etc.?
