Stuff from iPhone watching on TV, How?

Egyptian friend and kids arrived in U.K. this week. She wants to be able to watch Egyptian tv through her phone on her telly.

So, from someone who needs to ask 5yr old grandchildren how I get my Netflix on the tv, how can I impress her by making this happen ?

If you have an apple TV you can use airplay. If you don't have an apple TV you will probably need to have something like a Chromecast or similar. Another alternative would be to plug the iPhone into a computer and copy whatever it is onto that, then plug the computer in to the TV using HDMI.

A Chromecast is device that google sells that lets you stream stuff from your phone to your TV, but not much use if you don't already have one.

Sounds like you might be stuck using a laptop/computer connected to the TV if you can do that.

Apple TV isn't a TV, it's a box that you plug in to any TV that gives you access to Apple's TV+ streaming platform and others.

Yes. It’s a small box you connect with an hdmi cable. Pair with your phone and it’s good to go.

I was referring to the fact it doesn’t need to be an Apple TV.

I use AirPlay on my 3 year old (Chinese) TV using my iPhone.
