Hi there everyone, my name is James Fewtrell and I'm new to this forum. I'm currently an undergraduate studying Accounting and Financial Management at the University of Hull business school.

Firstly, I have posted a similar topic in the accounts and finance section of this forum.

I’m currently conducting a research study as part of my final year dissertation. I'm attempting to get senior managers, preferably an internal accountant/member of finance and/or business owners to take a couple of minutes of their time to complete my questionnaire.

However, after spending the last week or so phoning and emailing tens if not hundreds of companies/business', I seem to be getting nowhere. It seems that people are either unwilling or don't have the time to fill in my very short on-line questionnaire.

A few details about the questionnaire:

It requires a very small amount of accounting knowledge with regards to Depreciation of assets, however I'm confident that non-accountants should be able to complete the questionnaire.

The study explores the reasons why business owners /accountants/managers/directors select the choice of depreciation method’s they do. You will be asked five brief multiple choice questions relating to your industry, your choice of depreciation method(s) for differing non-current assets, your reasoning for your choice and whether your company/business utilises a bonus scheme for managers.

The Questionnaire should not take longer than a couple of minutes to answer. Please answer questions at your own pace but, as the survey will not save your responses, it must be completed at one sitting. Participation is voluntary and you can leave the study at any time by closing your browser. If you leave early, your data will be discounted.

This is an anonymous questionnaire. Please ensure that you do not write your name, or any other comments that will make you identifiable, on the attached questionnaire. By completing the questionnaire you are consenting to take part in this research. You are assumed to have read the preceding notes outlining the purpose and nature of the questionnaire.

I would be very grateful if some of you could take a couple of minutes to complete my questionnaire, my dissertation and therefore whole degree is dependant on getting these results. I would be grateful if you were to complete it, if you could post on the thread, so i can get an idea of the number of respondents.

Sorry about the address not being correct, I get an error message for posting web addresses. Please remove the brackets to access the survey.

Thanks, James. :)

Bump.

Are there any managers/business owners that would be willing to complete my short questionnaire? It takes a matter of two minutes, if that! It's extremely important to me, as my degree may depend on getting these responses/results!

Thanks, James. :)

Sorry to keep replying to my own post, but I would also be happy for any guests that are either accountants/business owners/managers to answer my questionnaire.

Thanks, James. :)

If a third of the people who have viewed the thread so far had answered, I'd have the results I need. I'd like to thank everyone that's completed it so far.

Getting these results means a lot to me, if you are an accountant/business owner/manager, please take a couple of minutes to fill in my questionnaire. :)

The general answer for me in all my companies (13) is: whatever the accountant suggests is best. i personally prefer straight line, but it is often causes hassle and sometimes not allowed.

Ah right ok, Thanks for your post! Would it be possible for you to fill in the questionnaire with regards to one of your specific companies?

Thanks, James.
