Staggered DPD deliveries?

On a light day depots are apparently splitting and sharing loads amongst owner drivers so they all get a nibble. The drivers tell me they have no say in this...........

We receive notification of a 10am delivery. 4 boxes arrive as scheduled and 3 late afternoon. Sods law one bag of parts is in the early delivery and the nuts and bolts to put together are in the second! :mad:If we have a delivery coming from another company, this can turn up on a third van at lunchtime.

Is anybody else suffering from and managed to have a conversation to get around this?

Interesting my son was telling me about this last week. First how the DPD vans were carrying very few parcels and this was both delivering and when picking up so the feeling was things have gone very quite for a lot of firms locally it seemed more so than normal for this time of year.

And yes he's getting two deliveries generally a day (7.00 am & 1.00pm) as the depot is trying to keep all the drivers "busy" as you mentioned fortunately not really caused him any real issues so far. He has a scheduled pick up every day, This is the last of the guys run and his van is still very empty when he gets here in fact on Tuesday he sat round just down the road for nearly an hour as he was running so ahead of schedule.

Not helpful if effecting your business but its good they trying to keep all drivers "busy" rather than laying off. Have to say

Amazon drivers though still racing around as busy as usual and have two parcels for myself arriving lunch time I ordered last night.

Last year, UPS were very unreliable, always sending apology e-mails that our parcels would be a day later than they should, sometimes the same again the following day.

This year they have been delivering earlier than the notified time slot. Maybe a similar thing happening. with lack of business.

Agreed, and whilst it doesn't materially effect the business if I've arranged a flexible appointment to visit a customer before or after expected time of delivery I'm bound to my desk...
