Yes ive looked at them but they dont offer a unlimited ccall package and there numbers are more expensive per month

Hi there,

Yes we currently use them and I have to say they have been very good - 100% uptime in the 6 months we have been with them for, plenty of features and good vale for money. They handle all our main incoming calls, email to fax, DDI's etc -no complaints!
Kind regards,

Matthew

Soho66 are fine. A bit new and not a member of ITSPA yet but possibly soon will be.

Our numbers cost the same at £2 per month and our call costs are the same. We give you a free 056 number. You might think that they'd copied us :)

No one gives unlimitted calls - it's an impossible business model, they will have a fair use policy somewhere to protect themselves from the greedy.

    Hi CDJ,
There numbers can work out as low as £1 per month, and we need to be able to source these at the lowest cost available.

There unlimited calls is 4000 minutes for £8 which is the same as gradwell if i remember correctly.

Also its 5 extensions for £5 pcm

Our extensions are £1 pm each, which I calculate is £5 for 5....

This is what it says on Soho's site for numbers.

Numbers on VoIP Solo are £2 per month and you can add as many VoIP Solo numbers to your account as your choose.

No doubt they get cheaper if you buy a few but if you're worrying about a few quid here and there, you're worrying about the wrong things. VoIP is easy when you're small, things get a bit more challenging once you have a few thousand simultaneous calls going through your switches.

Anyway, I'm not going to knock Soho, afaik they're a decent company and will no doubt do what you want. (Don't imagine that they'll let you use 4000 minutes every month though - if they did that they'd go bust pretty damn quick.)

Sorry extension wise your correct your extensions are £1 i've misread it.

Is there any where else you can buy numbers at £1ish and forward them on to your system?

There are people who will give you free numbers but they generally won't allow free call forwarding. The telecoms world has fixed and variable costs that we all have to pay no matter how big or small we are - when you see someone offering something that looks attractive, there is always a reason.

How many numbers do you actually need?

at this current number 5 local, and 5 non-geographic, however we have just launched a call answering service, so i hopefully will be needing a fair few, as we will be providing our clients a geographic number each

So that's £20 per month....surely that's not a big deal for a business that needs 10 telephone numbers?

Its not at this stage, however if we have 200 numbers for example the difference will be noticeable

Nah, if you have 200 numbers you'll have a business where £400 will be trivial. Also, by the time you have that many, you'll get better deals anyway and be wanting all kinds of clever services and features.

    very valid point,

Do you support caller line id? so i can save the number on the pbx dashboard and it would show as a name over number?

We do several variants of caller ID forwarding for different situations - it's best to call us and work out what you want to do. 020 7043 5555

We used to offer call answering but now focus solely on our virtual office mailing address. We used CJD's (Voipfone.co.uk) services and it offers what you need for your call answering service.

It does call line identity so you can see which company is being called, assuming you have a voip fone that has caller display, etc. The pbx lets you set up allsorts too. And the pay monthly is ideal for clients that come and go eg pay monthly clients so you aren't tied to 12 month contracts like others. Oh and their support service is good too with quick email responses. They don't may you feel like it must be your fault....even if it is something you have set up wrong or don't understand.

We bought a Granstream phone from Soho66 to use with Voipfone's services, and been happy with it. I'd say the only issue we get from time to time is that it unregisters itself so you have to reboot. Not sure what causes that.

What's causing it is not buying the phone from the provider you need to use it on :)

If you buy a phone from us, it comes pre-configured to work properly on our network. Grandstreams normally have their registration set to one hour - we use 1 minute. This has some technical and user advantages, for instance we know within 2 minutes if your phone has failed registration and can redirect calls automatically to your failover number - anyway, give us a call and the guys will check it for you.

It does divert to a regular landline on the pstn failover, just wasn't sure what caused it. Doesn't happen too often, possibly once a month.

I didnt buy the phone myself so I cant say why we got it from the other place unless it was a model you didnt stock at the time or maybe it was bought before signing up with voipfone.

Hello, I represent Soho66 and have been directed to this forum by one of our customers. The information presented by Voipfone regarding Soho66 is inaccurate. We are not a new company, we have been providing VoIP as an organisation for 7 years. We are members of ITSPA, which can be confirmed by visiting the ITSPA website. Our call plans advertise up to 4000 minutes, which is exactly what our customers can use. Whilst it is flattering that voipfone suggest that we copied their pricing, as you can see below, our single number pricing is where this similarity ends.

    Service................................Soho66................VoipFone.............

    Hi All,

I would like to step in and give my support for Soho66 - they are a great company, we were recommended to give them a go a couple of years ago and they have been top notch.

We have pretty high call volumes and requirements, but they really haven't missed a beat. Their control panel is one of the best, uptime second to none and the features are just all there. Not saying VoipFone isn't any good, but I have a lot of time for Soho66.

I've been using Soho66 for about 1.5 years with great success. I don't use a lot of unusual features, but rather just plug in the DECT phone and voila, it rings when someone calls. If I'm not around, it rolls over to mobile.

As far as VoipFone goes, frankly I've heard only good things from many people here. If I wasn't already with Soho66, I would be choosing VoipFone. I definitely wouldn't be using Gradwell again.
