Shopfitting Help

Hello There,

I am new to the shopfitting industry and I am finding it very difficult to gain leads for my company. I am sending out mail shots, letters etc but I am not getting anything back. We have a very good organisation that has been trading for the last seven years. We also have our own factory, joinery employees, offices etc.

Our website hasn't really been updated so we are working on that within the next 2 weeks. I'm not sure if potential clients have viewed the website and thought against ourselves.

We have gained a substantial client list over the past 7 years that include Austin Reed, Laura Ashley, Thomas the Baker, Malmaison Hotel, Middlesbrough College, bits and pieces for Tesco, Jane Norman etc

Im finding it difficult to get into the high street market as I feel they have already developed their own shopfitting contacts. Its such a specialised industry and they are literally hundreds of shopfitters around the UK, I just think its getting in at the right time but as I say, i'm finding it extremely difficult. Please advise

Just searched on Google and I got fed up after scanning page 21 to see where you ranked and by crikey there are plenty of shopfitting businesses out there you are vying with.

Have a word with one of the search engine optimisation guys on here to see if they could get you A LOT higher ranking than page 21 or even lower

Have you approached any FM companies to see if you can get onto their books? Send me a PM.

I'm ex commercial maintenance industry and may be able to help you out with some contacts at national FM companies.

Who exactly are you wanting to target, your web site looks like very specialist bespoke stuff, but to me shop fittings is shelfing and displays for shops, but all your images looks very hi spec office.

based on your web site I wouldn't use you.

I hope you don't mind, but I clicked on the link at the bottom of your website, the designed by link and it went to:

and on the landing page, the top says property maintance, with what looks like a 13 year old with a hammer on the right (meet the team) and 4 pictures of his work in the middle, it didn't insipire confidence.

I did some marketing in the area few years ago, and the big boys have full tender processes where they will approve 4 or 5 companies that will get all he work for the next 3 years.

You can either get information on when the tenders come up, find out who IS on the list and if they subcontract, or try for small jobs that drop below the threshold, allowing them to use a smaller, local company off the tender list.

Totallysport - We target high street stores such as Austin Reed, Laura Ashley, but in terms of other projects such as offices we would'nt say no to, but my MD really wants the high street stores. I know that our website is poor and thats what I am working on myself as it hasn't been touched in 9 months and I have only been here for 6 weeks, also your last post is not our website - Prodrive Maintenance is a separate company from ours but use the same logo as the MD from that company and ours are best friends
