Hello,

I haven't been hear for few weeks cause I'd like to start new venture.

I have a question to business owners, and persons who know the topic or places where I can found reliable information's about starting business in UK.

I realize that topic is huge, but maybe you have some tips. Now I'd like to maximum reduce not necessary costs and that's way I ask such questions.

For example:
what best bank account choose?
where's most value land line plan? ( I wonder about firsttelecom.com )
where can I find best information center for rookie like me?
etc.

for all more tips I'll be very grateful.

all the best, and future thanks for replies
Martin

the moneysaving expert forums website is an absolute mine of information, I have learnt so much information on there, I found abbey to be the most suitable for a small business bank account. the business link and hmrc sites are also very good. from helen.

depending where you are in the country, there is more than one telecom provider, I am with ntl, a telephone line costs £11 per month, with call charges on top of that amount. I am not sure what the other providers such as bt cost. if you look on the moneysaving expert website there are comparisons between the different providers. from helen.

I can't sing AdEPT Telecom's praises high enough. I have calls from both my private and work lines routed through them, and they are really cheap! It's one bill I don't mind getting:D.

Their website is: http://www.adept-telecom.co.uk/

BTW, if you're going to be working from a home office, have a separate phone line for work calls - otherwise you'll have clients calling you up at all hours.

Thank you for sharing a nice post. There should be a perfect plan and guides to start different types of business setups. You need quality information, e-books and products to succeed in starting a business.

I don't think I have ever read an e-book ;)

A great resource is to post questions that you have in the forum and wait for answers from knowledgable small business owners. There are a lot of people on here who have made all the mistakes already so can give you answers to problems that stand the most chance of being successful.

You make your own luck in business (golf). The harder you work at it the luckier you get :) (Jack Nicklaus quote I think)

Ps... Damn. I am posting on a revived post from 2006. They got me. The poster above links his profile to starting business guides. Expect an onslaught till post 15.
