I'm hosting a business expo in Twickenham next month and want to invite as many local business people as possible to attend. It's free to attend if they pre-register online. Any ideas for how best to promote the event?

So far I'm using email marketing, postcard distribution, posters, magazine advertising and social media. I'm also encouraging the exhibitors to promote the event to their contacts.

If you have any other creative ideas please do share!

Many thanks.

Hi Champion,

Well, you have got my attention by posting on this forum. The event looks interesting.

Are you not allowed to change the title of the thread to the name of the Expo?

What about a press release? Ezine ads to ezines that reach your target audience? Craigslist ads and other sites that offer event listings. Writing short guest blog posts and linking to your site in the bio/resource box. Twittering. Facebook. Other social media sites.

Hi Champ,

I found your Expo on findnetworkingevents.com so your message is out there! Since finding yours on there, I have booked tickts (and joined the site) so thank you for that.

We run a series of networking and business education events and are looking for similar sites and outlets to promote through.

Hopefully I may meet you at the Expo!

Best,

What sort of business expo is it and what sort of people will be interested? I tend to get invitations to events of all types sent to me through the post. It is a case of getting the event established, doing the usual things and It will become part of an established circuit. Quite a lot of events attract quite a lot of free tv and radio coverage. Bit a bit far for me but wish you well with it.

Thanks for your advice, it's very much a local business expo with a variety of businesses exhibiting - mainly SME's, plus some other organisations like banks, Business Link, FSB, council departments, etc. It will attract mainly other local businesses seeking suppliers and strategic partners - a good networking opportunity. I will contact our local radio station again, I did already speak to them about it.
