Search Engine Help needed please

I have setup my site and there are a few problems i have found

1)The images are far too large so please can someone help me with this

2)My website is on search engines but my description is now wrong as the content of my site has changed. please can someone explain how i can use dreamweaver to sort out my search engine listing. I have changed the description and keywords but i don't think its worked.

Any help would be much appreaciated as i am new to web design!

The problem with the images is that you are using the original sizes (which are huge) and getting Dreamweaver to re-size them. Internet Explorer still loads in the original size picture, which is why your site is so slow to load.

You need to resample the pictures using a photo editor bbefore you put them in Dreamweaver - any photo editor can do this. Dreamweaver will do it too, but the results can be blurred. If I were you, I'd make the shirts look nicer by cutting them out and giving them a drop shadow - something like this - http://www.dabcom.com/shirt.htm.

I can see that you have added a Description tag to the site, but I have not had time to check its format. However, I did see that Google last visited your site on 24th September, so it probably hasn't yet logged the changes you made.

The other problem you have is that there is nothing of any importance for the search engines to index. With very little text the robots will not be able to pick out your keywords.

As a result, the robots will not be in any hurry to re-visit. And if you have missed the last update it can take a month or two to see any changes.

And I'm not sure how your description will help. Many of the words do not appear on the page so again the search engines won't pick them up as keywords.

You also need to get your page titles sorted and make sure you have a main header that describes each page.

But there is so much more you could do. Look at your last line for example:

That's just lazy. Why not sign off with: 'Designer Demon - Designer Clothing at Discount Prices'. 6 keywords in one line of text.

My Advice, write some interesting, relevant and keyword rich content.

Yep. you need to concentrate on the basics i.e. content, content and more content. Oh and a few links wouldn't go a miss.

And, until you sort out those images out you may wish to block the engines from your images folder and save on some bandwidth.
