SA302 - How do I get this?

I am required to get an SA302 form in order to get a mortgage. The mortgage advisor said I should call HMRC to get this.

I called and after just over 30 minutes of being on hold the advisor told me I can just log on to HMRC and download this if I submitted my return electronically (which I did).

I have logged on and can't find it anywhere. Should this be there somewhere? Or was the person I spoke to wrong?

Thanks!

No, neither of those apply to me. I guess I'll need to phone them again to request it :(

If you filed your return using the HMRC software you should be able to print out a tax calculation (SA302). When you log in to your HMRC account choose Tax return options and pick the year you need. You should see a link for VIEW RETURN. If you follow this link you will be given an option view your calculation for your latest submitted return after which you will be given the option to view and print full calculation.

If you filed your return using 3rd party software you cannot access the calculation online instead you will need to ask HMRC to send it to you.

My sister/accountant submits them for me.

I managed to get through again on the phone (after another ridiculously long wait) and they are sending it out :)

Can you tell me which number you called for this? Too many to choose from and I have to do the same thing for my mortgage, thanks in advance.:)

I know its an old post but its page 1 on google results.

The answer as already stated is you need to print your Tax Calculation Summary yourself. This is the page (can't link as I'm a newbe):

search2.hmrc.gov.uk/kb5/hmrc/forms/view.page?record=I28DG0YdCzg&formid=3106

Tax Calculation Summary is not same thing as SA302 form accepted by lenders

Just landed here from a Google search as I'm in the same position and I'd just like to point out that this statement is incorrect, according to the HMRC website (that I can't post the link to due to being new here but it's the HMRC page titled "Understanding and Checking your Tax Calculation"):

"Sometimes you may be asked for your tax calculation by a bank or other lender as evidence of your income. You don't have to ask HMRC for a paper copy. If you do an online tax return, you can print off your tax calculation yourself. It may not show the form number - SA302."

Hopefully that's of some help to others in this position - better than being stuck on hold on the phone to HMRC, anyway! ;)

An update on this - you CAN print out SA302 after you have filed your return using Tax Calc software

I think that the chances of a lender asking for a form SA302 from HMRC and then accepting a printout that doesn't have that number are a teeny weeny bit low. Approaching zero I'd have thought.

Seems strange! The lenders direct always ask for hmrc sa302's.

I suspect the IFA is certifying them before they go off?

Spoke to my mortgage broker who said he has to certify them if they are not orginals. Suppose it ultimately depends on each lenders requirenent.

Neither of the ones I have, which HMRC sent me, have SA302 mentioned on them.

Just to add: The ones I was sent are SA302s if that makes any difference?
My Mortgage company accepted them fine.

edit again: unless that was plural (they sent me 2)

Thanks, that's news to me!

I usually send lenders the official SA302 received from HMRC and printed on their off-white paper, as this is what they ask for.
