Last year started with hope and ended in despair.Going to be fun at work tomorrow.
This year can't be a repeat. Surely...
Hacking systems is far more lucrative than drugs and prostitution. You can buy hacking software and ransomware on the dark web. I read the other day that crims now franchise their online activities.
As has been said numerous times, for any organisation it’s not if but when you will be hacked.
www.etail-usa.com - 50% of RM rates to USA, tracked, fast delivery times.Any decent emergency alternative for US orders? I compared multiple couriers back during the strikes but ended up dismissing them because of pricing, also most of my packages surprisingly had no issues. Now it seems like there isn't much choice.
An interesting service in these trying times that doesn't require any customs information for the sent goods - how does that work from a legal standpoint?50% of RM rates to USA
As I said, legacy zonal pricings - MP7 is significantly less and has been available for a couple of years now.RM code : MP1
That's good to know - no mention in the pdf guide though. Is there an API to submit the info?Customs info IS required but electronically

As far as I am aware no. Still can't and even when you can the backlog will be horrendous. We paused overseas shipping in December due to the Christmas rush and the RM strikes etc. Wasn't worth the hassle, not sure if we should start putting international back on?
I wonder if this is affecting incoming mail.
We feel the timing of this ransomware attack is highly suspicious, the RM is struggling to cope with the strikes and then they get 'hacked' meaning they can't handle any international mail.
Anyone else smell a rat ?
I wouldn't normally either, however - we have 40+ US tracked parcels posted around 'Black Friday' weekend that have only just been scanned in our local Leeds depot. They obviously prioritised UK mail during the strikes, and I suspect they make a lot less profit on overseas stuff.Don't really buy into this
Updated Customer Statement
Following the recent cyber incident, we are trialling operational workarounds and have started moving limited volumes of export parcels. While we trial these operational workarounds, we continue to ask customers not to submit any new export parcels into the network. Our initial focus will be to clear mail that has already been processed and is waiting to be despatched.
We are pleased to announce that we have resumed the export of letters to all international destinations. From 1900hrs (Wednesday 18 January), customers will be able to access international export letter services again via online shipping solutions to print labels and send items which do not require a customs declaration (personal correspondence items). Items can then be posted into the Royal Mail network and via Post Office from tomorrow (Thursday 19 January).
Royal Mail continues to work with external experts, the security authorities and regulators to mitigate the impact of this cyber incident, with a focus on restoring services for export letters and parcels. Our import operations continue to perform a full service with some minor delays. Domestic services remain unaffected.
We would like to sincerely apologise to impacted customers for any disruption this incident may be causing. Please be assured our teams are working around the clock to resolve this situation and we will update customers as soon as we have more information.

Are you sure you mean DHL?DHL are planning to relaunch their international service towards the end of next month, with postage to Europe in the single figures, and DDP offered to all EU destinations. I shall be watching.
Are you sure you mean DHL?
We've been using DDP to all of the EU via DHL since January 1st, 2021.... and IOSS for under €135 from when it became live.
