Refused for business account

Hi,

Early this year i registerd my limited company, i did this through a third party company that offerd to set up a fast trach business account with barclays, i filled in all my details and waited to hear from them, a few days later i recieved a pack that instucted me to go to my nearest branch, I was also told in the pack that there was no need for an interview as everthing was taken care of. The bank account was declined so i decided to check my credit report as i could not understand why, to my horror barclays had marked this application with the fraud prevention agency. I contacted the credit agency and they told me it was only a count 4 which meant that it was somthing to do with incorrect personal information supplied. I can only put this down to being a typin error of the third party company i used, I have tried to discuss this problem with Barcleys, but the refuse to do so, it must be in wrighting, as you can imagine this is a very lenghthy process it has been well over six months now and still no answer. Does anybody no of a soloution to get this removed or how long it will take before it is wiped off my credit file. My business is on hold untill i can resolve this.

This is a joke, there are other banks out there and sitting down with a good bank manager is the way forward. If your credit is good, there should not be a problem. 6 Months is a long time to wait, hope the business goes well.

Like you I went to open up a business bank account and also got denied. So got a credit report and found I had a default against my name from a credit rating of 999 I now have a 759. I then discovered a fraudlent mobile account was set up on an account I hadn't used since 2000. The direct debit was rejected, the bank account charged but as I received no statements it was defaulted. The bank says its not their fault and the mobile company says its not their fault. Now I too am stuck. These banks forget its us the tax payer who have just bailed there arses out of the muck.

hey guys,

thanks for the replys, just a quick update, I have been intouch with barclays and they are refusing to remove the application 4 fraud from my credit file even though it was my fault. They have also informed me that it will be on my credit file for six years which will mean i canot trade though my limited company as you must have a bank account, seems like at the sloppyness of others i stand to loose a lot of money that i have invested.
