Are Labour trying to get us back into the EU? We are ( were) looking to go set up an EU subsidiary...................... but should we wait?

I wouldn't. Why would the EU accept us back? There may, eventually be some kind of rapprochement, but it won't be quick and it won't be rejoining.

Don't hold your breath - it won't be quick or easy

A couple of months ago, I'd have said 'never', but I now think there is a real chance of something - probably a diluted trade arrangement rather than full membership

I was a remainer but there is nothing to be gained from this It would be another 15 years of chaos and we would probably have to ditch the pound for the Euro along with other concessions

I see little evidence that the UK is even slightly serious about rejoining the EU. Even if it was, it would take a very long time.

So waiting for that to happen (or not) seems like the wrong move. If creating an EU subsidiary makes sense today, do it.
