Hi everyone. We are on the verge of expanding are business and looking for either an additional warehouse to what we have or another bigger one and wondered if there is any benefit to crossing the boarder into the next Borough.
If we decided to keep warehouse 1 and found warehouse 2 over the boarder in the next council Borough (we are close to the boarder so it wouldn't cause us any issues) would we still have to tell each council about the other warehouse in the other councils Borough or not? Would both warehouses be entitled to rates relief by each council or not? Is there a main register that would flag both warehouses as being rented by the same business even though they are in different council Boroughs?
All we need is some additional storage really so the 2nd warehouse wouldn't actively paying its ways, hence wanting to keep costs as low as possible. Getting a 2nd place would be preferable to moving into a bigger place altogether as we wouldn't need to shut down or pay for removal haulage.
Any advice on this front would be great, TIA.
