Raising our profile in the public sector

Over the years we've done a lot of work with the public sector and are now looking to raise our profile in a more proactive way.

We're particularly interested in winning bigger contracts (£100K plus) and are already registered to recieve notifications of tenders with Tenders Direct.

I've just been talking to an organisation who provide news and info to the public sector called Source UK.net who sound to be quite good. I'm wondering if anyone out there has had experience of using this site or has any other good ways of raising profile.

Look forward to your answers.

Rich....the ideal way is to get into a framework agreement if possible.
The tenders sites that are out there all get their info from OJEU which is a free site anyway.
Unfortunately with PS tenders a lot of manual trawling the web is often the case...particularly with tenders below 100K...BUT tenders over 100K have to be submitted to OJEU.

The European Journal is a good place to find Tenders, I've also stumbled upon a fair few by cold calling local councils.

Not sure if it's relevant to you, but you can get tender alerts from Supply2.gov.uk and skillfair.co.uk

Thanks for the replies. Have had a look at supply2.gov.uk and it looks promissing. Skillfair seems more aimed at individuals and micro businesses which isn't really us. We access OJEU through tenders direct so I think (?) we've got that one covered.

If anyone's interested, the site I've found, SourceUK.net sends news and articles direct into the public sector and receives 500,000 hits per month. They say that they were set up as an official news and procurement channel so go into all public sector organisations through their intranets. They've got three levels of subscription for suppliers (£1500 - £6,000). I've found them to be very helpful on the phone so far so I think we may end up using them.

If it works, i'll write it up here.

Thanks again
Rich
