Problem loading a new software package

Hi all
I have had some problems loading some new software which would stop just after starting setup stating error 2 the system cannot find the file specified. It took me ages to find the problem so thought i would pass on what i did to solve it as Microsoft has hidden the problem quite deep

Windows 10
It would seem that MS has decided with ver 10 to stop any new software from loading that it does not know of so treats it as a virus threat
There answer is to have a "controlled folder access" hidden away In defender settings under control panel
Firewall & Network protection
Virus and Threat protection settings
Controlled folder setting which by default is on and needs turning off if you have problems on setup.exe
Found it about 10 seconds before it went through the window in frustration

What software is it?

If you don't need it to run on your system you could always try and run it inside a virtual environment and see if it works that way.

The software is Family Historian and now works but hard work finding the reason it would not run setup
