Probate registry service : appalling service

Anyone who has had anything to do with the Governments' probate registry service will know the service is an absolute joke, it's disgustingly bad and takes forever.
I thought those in the legal world on here (plus many members for personal reasons.....) would be interested in this petition going about it :

I dealt with them last year, had no issues whatsoever and the relevant documentation was received back in less than two weeks so my experience was neither disgustingly bad nor did it take forever...

That is so rare I am almost doubting you !
My wife has already been waiting 6 months and they repeatedly fail to get back to her and or lose stuff.

Yeah, as I've got nothing better to do than come here and lie about having to use them after the death of my mother.

She died on 20th October, I applied for probate a couple of weeks later, I've just had a look, and the grant of probate is dated 11 November so pretty damn good and fast service from them for me.

That link you posted is pretty sneaky as well as clicking on it doesn't take you to an information page, it actually adds your vote to the petition whether you want it to or not...

That was not "sneaky", it was just a genuine mistake, I just copied and pasted from the wrong page, but it does not add you name anyway, you have to "sign it" ( at the page below) then it sends you and E Mail then you have to click on the link in that E Mail to have signed.

I never suggested you lied, as far as I know you have no axe to grind. I actually said "That is so rare I am almost doubting you !"

All I can say is my wife sent off the probate stuff in early May and she is still waiting. They never get back to you, and have lost at least one E Mail.
The worst aspect of this is they are not doing it for free, you have to pay for the service !
