Premises Licences Register - UK Councils

Good afternoon,

Looking for the experience of anyone that can help please.

I am dealing with a company who have provided me with a copy of a Premises Licence issued in April 2021. I have done a check on the councils "Premises Licence Register" and found that this licence does not appear on this list. I have rang the council and the back office couldn't find this licence either when I gave the address. They suggest that sometimes the licences don't appear online, which I find staggering, but then I thought:

1. Councils are over-budget / under-funded
2. Councils could be disorganised etc
3. Covid delays etc

The company is question has had an enforcement order for lack of planning permission, so I wanted to check what (if anything) has happened to their premises licence (suspended/revoked etc). I would assume that one would lead to the other but that's assuming the planning department speaks to the licences department!

Anyone ever had any experience with this? I'd explain the whole situation but it's quite a delicate situation I'd also email the council but don't want to open any more cans of worms for the company involved.

Surely when speaking to the council they either have this company registered or not, the fact that it may not appear online (although indicates to me they don't have a valid licence) the council should still be able to tell you if they have them on record or not
