Hi

I work for a company that send upto 40,000 letters every month, DL 1st and 2nd class. We are currently on Royal Mails business tariff but the STL codes we use for quantites under 500 on our Online Business Account are being removed in March and we have no option but to start using Address Mailmark on our letters, which is proving to be costly.

I was just wondering what other companies do for sending letters of this quantity - what Royal Mail codes/tariffs do you use?

Also if anyone has experience with Address Mailmark, has it been worthwhile?

Royal mail not going to provide replacement codes to use next year?

Had a letter about this the other day, unlike you they only need to give my business a small time period warning, the change taking effect next month and the letter dated June.. Not 8 months warning for us small fry.
I have UNA for 1st and UNB for 2nd class replacements for STL.

They do provide an email address it may be worth trying. Provide your a/c number and contact in the message it says.
[email protected] - whew what a mouthful. Perhaps buam@ was already taken.

Thank you for your reply. Yes UNA and UNB are the replacement codes for STL but we're a bit stuck because we only use STL for quantites under 500. Quantities over 500 we use OCR (CL3 and CL4 codes) and both types of mail require different PPI on the envelope.

We can either get the new barcode PPI envelopes and send all mail using UNA/UNB (but anything over 500 will cost us more to send than it currently does using CL3/CL4)

Or we we have 2 types of PPI envelopes on the go, which isnt feasible.

Or it seems the final option is to switch to Address Mailmark...it just feels like a long confusing process and i figured there must be an easier solution so was just curious on ehat other companies are doing to send their mail.

I suspect most of us are going to be in the under 500 group.
