Postage price option poll

Hi guys I would like some feed back to any idea we are currently considering for our online store.

The idea is to remove our current delivery charge (£3.25) and just increase the prices of the products to take into account the postage costs. So in theory, the price you see is the price you pay, unless you want express delivery. Therefore we could advertise as free delivery.

What are your opinions/experiences with this? Would you rather "think" everything is free delivery or would you rather have a separate delivery charge and keep the products lower in price?

Thanks in advance

Depends on what you are selling.
If meaning putting the product price up you then start showing a higher product price than your competitors then I would advise against it.
If however you are the only seller of the products then it might be a good idea as you can then start shouting out "FREE DELIVERY"

If you list on any price comparison websites, you won't be as cheap anymore, as the postage is often either ignored or listed separately.

Someone I know has done this, they put the prices up slightly and are testing a slightly cheaper courier to help balance it out. Apparently it's working well for him.
