Use wifi calling instead - EE support it, so I guess others do as well.

Thanks Nick, also, the router in the home is downstairs and the home office is upstairs and I think this is another reason why it's poor.

If WiFi signal is poor in your office, have you looked at getting either a WiFi booster/repeater to go somewhere in between your office and the router, or using powerline adapters (there are various models that will give you a WiFi access point without it needing to be close enough to the router to receive a WiFi signal).

The mobile signal UK wide seems to have gone backwards over the years. I used to have a great signal inside my house....now I need to rely on Wifi calling. And it seems the same regardless of where I am in the UK.

I am still with the same mobile network, and have changed phones thinking it might be that. But no improvement.

When you leave the trunk roads here in Devon mobile signals can still be patchy in 2025
Last year I tried Ol Elons star link on a farm near Crediton its very impressive and if connectivity is important to you its well worth the money

I am in the middle of a fairly popular village... but on the wrong side of the valley and can just about get a speakable signal if I hang out of the upstairs bedroom window.
New BT/EE fibre connection comes with an extender which is on my office desk with excellent wifi to talk on: Before that the TP link extender worked pretty well until the bus went past the cabinet at the top of the hill and the vibration took the cr*ppy connection out

It’s highly likely due to the Huawei ban. Huawei was widely adopted for its great cost-to-value proposition, but the UK government banned it due to security concerns over its ties to China. For a while, there was no direct alternative to replace Huawei in network infrastructure. Providers had to shift to more expensive suppliers, which likely increased costs and slowed down the already rushed transition.
