Point-to-point leased line - internet connectivity?

If I choose a point-to-point leased line to connect to a specific server, can I still get Internet connection using this service? Please feel free to send me a private message if you would like to provide a quote.

With a normal Point-to-point leased line it doesn't touch the internet so you wouldn't be able to have internet access over it unless you provided internet access via one of the sites.

If you need internet at the two sites it may be worth looking at two internet leased lines with internet access and using a VPN or implementing an MPLS.

Perhaps if you could provide a bit more information about what you need to achieve we can advise.

As Leo said normally not as the line would simply be a link between one location and another. If the server in question already has a link to the internet then you could use the private line to get to the server and then connect to the internet via the existing connection.

you can use proxy server to distribute your internet connection from your Point-to-Point connected server to other users of LAN.

Hi there,

It isn't normally possible to use the "internet" from a point to point leased line unless it is a MPLS network (in simple terms the pipe is segregated into multiple speeds/services for different purposes) but when our clients have a similar service directly from their offices to our data centre, they can then pick up internet from us and we send it down the point to point either as primary connection or as a backup to their standard office line. I hope that makes sense!
