Payment processor and discount codes

Does anyone know of an payment processor which will allow discount codes?

I am looking at using Paypal and Google Checkout, but would like to offer customers discounts at certain times in the year. Is there a payment processor that can do this?

Normally this functionality s provided by the shopping cart software not the payment provider

Yes - so I would need the shopping cart to work out the discount and then send it to the payment processor.

I was looking at an add-on package more than an expensive ecommerce package, as the site is already built but minus the ecommerce bits. I've just been looking at romancart and see their platinum package can do this for £200 a year.

x-cart can provide what you are after too. you can set it to global or selectively
