While sat in my doctors waiting room this morning I admired the photos and prints on the wall.
I got to thinking that someone like yourself could negotiate with your local practice to exhibit one of your pieces to brighten up these areas. You could have them for sale with a percentage going to the practice and also links to your site etc. You could then change on a monthly basis etc...

Just a thought.

Also yes I'm becoming addicted to this site aswell - another thread.

Don't listen to them Nige I thought it was a really nice idea, and interesting that this forum and people on it has made such an impact that this happened this morning.

my girlfiriend loves her art and has always talked about doing this sort of thing.

i say go fro it, get some local artists, pop on your %, then a little % incentive for the wall owners, then off you go. pop in once a month to rotate peices

good luck

I'm doing that with a local pub at the moment, but am always on the look out for more ops. The only problem is funds. Canvas costs and to produce without guarenteed sale often ends you up with crazy amounts of unsold work.

Our local dental surgery displays a collection of local artists work in its waiting rooms and it seems to work really well for the artists. (There is different art there every time I go there).

I think it would work better in a doctors or a dentists waiting room rather than in a pub. People in waiting rooms have only the artwork or two year old copy of Bella to keep them entertained, where as in a pub you normally have company, music and drinks to entertain you.

With restaurants I guess it would depend on the restaurant.

Ever thought of displaying them in quaint coffee shops?

Hi Guys, All these ideas are great and ones I've seen and thought of myself but the trouble is, getting the wall space is easy. Painting pieces to put there is expensive.

Thats why I go for the commission/corporate art market. I get far more enjoyment out of painting something I know someone wants rather than just trying to guess what people will like.

As another idea of getting hopefully the same result, rather than putting paintings on the walls why not get prints made?

N.B. remember to put you website address at the bottom of the print.
