New google feature? (search box within results)

One of the reasons it must be appearing there, is because the website in question uses the google site search on its website (top right of the home page).

Not sure if this applies as one of my sites has the no. 1 slot for some terms, and there's a Google search box on every page of the site, yet no special treatment from G.

I think its something new that they haven't roled out completely - i have an authority site and it hasn't gained a search box as yet.

It is a fairly new feature - I don't particularly like it to be honest but it's pretty good for Google as they see what people are searching for within sites and can also display all their pay per click ads next to the search results.

We'll see how long it lasts though as it hasn't gone down too well with some online retailers. Amazon actually asked Google to remove their search box.

There have been complaints about it from some big companies, because
allthough it displays site searches it also displays ads to competitors.
I'll post the link if I can find it.
