I have looked at alot of websites that help with people who want to create there own brand... thanks for the advice.. all this info is on these websites (risks and benefits)!!

I the question you need to ask yourself is why do you want to create your own brand??
Its a financial answer I guess perhaps an increased profit margin but seriously how would you sell this brand? market it? make it fashionable?
regarding risks have you thought about the costs involved in producing a garment? obvious minimum volumes you may need to manufacture to make it worth while?
Imagine shelling out say £10K on producing a small range of your brand of shirts, only to find they dont sell at all.
I have thought about getting produced my own items, but at present I feel the risks outweigh the benefits. I dont want to be stuck with tons of stock especially if another supplier decides to undercut you, you may never shift another item.

How do you know what will sell, do you have a background in selling mens fashion.
I think you would find most people starting their own brands would have been selling simular items for a number of years and then felt comfortable enough to have manufactured a small 1000 trial run

One of the companies that used to go to our business meetings did a similar thing, they sourced out a company in India that could make the garments for them. It took a few visits back and forth to actually get the designs up to scratch and to make sure the factory wasn't a sweat shop employing kids but in the end it worked out much cheaper than producing the same items in the UK.
Have you considered trying to get a business mentor that can advise you and help keep you on track, we had one when we first started out and the advise was invaluable.

Yeah, I've heard of things being outsourced too.. There is a lot of GMO/sprayed cotton in India though.. (thanks to Monsanto..) better be careful..
If this would be a green and ethical line of clothing... In that case, maybe the market would be interested.. Also depending where you want to sell, the pricing & the competition.. A lot of big retailers and 'big names' in clothing have done badly, still people may be interested in truly 'green' products..
(It's not so easy to make 'truly green' though.. I looked a bit..
of course there can be good approximations..)
Anyway, wishing you luck with this.. Sometimes I dreamed about having my own (very niche) line of clothing too..
Oh, and not sure if you're looking for info on branding or also on creating the actual green & ethical clothing? There is a lot of info in books, and some colleges/universities may have courses about making the industry greener etc. (so even if you don't go study, you could get materials, books, notes from lectures etc from any students..?) Or you could get consultants etc?
Of course it is also great to learn from people who have already done it, and are doing it successfully.. Go check out their websites, read interviews or books about them.. visit shops..
A real live mentor (or a few) would be ideal, you can get a lot from just reading about what other people did & are doing too..

On a general note re the brand I'd suggest finding a USP (unique selling point) i.e something that makes you different from everyone else and pushing from that angle. Fashion is a tough business and you have to differentiate yourself to make a mark.

You know that most partnerships end up not being partnerships anymore....and often end up in the courts... One needs to be clear about what each partner is contributing to the partnership. The money, the labour, the idea, the intellectual property etc...etc

We're a clothing manufacturer, and we are often approached by people wanting to create thier own brands. Keep in mind a few things:
1- Who is your target market? "The kind of people who will Buy your want to purchase your clothing brand.
2- Have you done your homework on your target market and the required products?
3- How do you want to distribute your brand once you have the stock?
