It really is simply, you can't have five employees on a turnover so far of $389, they are not employees they are volunteers. Nothing wrong with that, just be honest and open about who you are and what you do, then you will get the help and advice you seek.

Well im Charlie, im 15.. i started doing video producing when i was 13 (2 years ago)...
I've made over $3,000 total from all my work as i used to do web design back in 2009 when i was known as oDesk Help, a blog on the oDesk forums to help contractors and employers get the most out of the site, i won an oDesk t-shirt.
I have a Advent Centurion Gaming PC with 8gb's of ram (custom added 4gb), a AMD Phenom II X2 545 processor, ATI HD 5550 graphics card and a 1TB Hard drive (custom added 500gb)
I have 5 people who work for me (as volunteers and some payed) i started my business by trading skills 4 skills, i did video production for a guy who made the logo then we became friends and now hes our graphic designer, i pay him in wallie cards, i then met Ian whos a web designer in the pihllipines and i made him the Zambango classifieds vid and he made our twitter and facebook and started to promote them, we then built a relationship with him and hes now our in-house web designer (as i mentioned)
We then slowly added the other 2 these past few weeks they are the voice over guy (jason) and Steve who has 2,500 subs on youtube and does most of the after effects work for us, we've also just added another editor who works for a portfolio with us and he does editing in final cut pro 2.

Thats all guys :)

Tip of the day: Don't mess with the Saxinator.

Personally, I'm not surprised that this guy is young. In fact, I would have been surprised if he was a fully grown adult.

I can respect anyone of any age for trying to start a business, but I'd advise dropping this attempt to seem a lot bigger than you are.

I never mentioned my age and actually 100,000 people have viewed our logo, 1,000 people on youtube, the 200,000 impressions of our ad on facebook and the people i've shown in to... and for a 15 year old kid to be able to create this kind of logo, video production with professional voice over and 5 employees i think i've done pretty well especially the $389 i've made from 1 job...

You've done well for a 15 year old, and more than most at your age. However, you're still falsely bigging yourself up. You couldn't sell those logos to professional UK businesses (they look like they were done on MS Paint if I'm honest), you don't have 5 employees and $389 is very little. Good for a 15 year old, but very little in the real world.

If you want to try and get somewhere, then I'd suggest that you drop this whole attempt and start honing your skills instead. Get everything up to a professional standard and then start offering realistic services which you're capable of doing.

Just don't get ahead of yourself, because one day a business might end up paying you money for a service which they really aren't impressed with, and then they will want their money back, your parents will get involved and so on. It can generally turn into a mess very quickly if you aren't careful.

Oh, Charlie, all you had to do, was say 'I am 14 years old, and this is what I want to do, could someone please give me any advice'!

I suspect you would have received lots of offers of help, and friendly advice.

Instead, you tried to tough it out, and pretend to be someone and something you are not.

It's great you have the skills you do, but don't try to run before you can walk, and listen to others who have been around a lot longer than you.

I also noticed you posted on another site, and someone asked you about copyright - these are not issues to be ignored or treated lightly, you could end up ruining your career before you even get started.

Good luck with what you want to do, but ask, listen and learn.

Poppy xx

vertigo is a fear of something, so as a name - it is very off putting

The logo looks poor. Just think - where are you going to use it... or put another way, where do Disney, MGM, or any other video company use the logo.
- website
- merchandise
- on the trailers for the film
- paperwork
- press releases

the logo needs to work across a plethora of platforms, and to be frank yours doesn't cut it

Personally, I would ditch it, re-group, come up with both verbally and visually something stronger, and more positive

I hold my hands up - my spelling and grammar is my weak point, but I purposefully don't desenfranchise a group of customers by using loose language or slang. Ultimatally, your paying customers (the good ones) will be well spoken and literate, and will abide "youth talk" so make an effort to make anything you present publicly the very best and inclusive. Even if you have to work at it, it is worth it

Did you call it Vertigo because you suffer constantly from dizziness ?

You must suffer with dizzy spells because it sounds like your head is too big for your body.

But don't worry when you grow up your body might catch up with your head.

Boast when you have hit the big time, which starts in the £ millions

It seems that the cast of muppets have landed on this forum in the last few days. You can be Dr Bunsen Honeydew and one of your helpers can be Beaker

Please, this is a waste of time.

Making pointless claims just makes you look silly. It doesn't matter if it's true, but we don't care where you live, what computer you have or what your parents earn. You've put up your business for comments, and you've had some feedback. People are upset because you weren't honest about your age or business structure, but I don't think you've done anything that many others on here haven't done.

I for one would much rather you were having a go at a business venture than hanging around on street corners. Take the comments on the name seriously, it really could be a problem for you.
