Hey,

Do you think I could make a hugemongos ( Large ) business by making amazing sandwiches and snacks and selling them to cafes, sandwich bars, farm shops, convenience stores...

The plan is to package them branded to individual outlets...

What do you think?

I can sell, I can make sandwiches!! Surely its a winner right?

If you owned a farm shop, cafe, or convienance store you would love to save on staff wages and time.

Plus my sandwiches are as cheap to buy as they are for you to make . and we can sticker them with your company name...

And my sandwiches are healthy..full macro breakdown...no crap inside them...insanley tasty...would you like one?

Another thing is if you're preparing food for sale, there will be very strict health and safety guidelines you will need to follow. You will have to have your kitchen/food preparation area checked, for example.
Yeah... I'll make sure the dog doesnt lick the kitchen worktop that day [emoji2]

If you want to follow Adelie then you're going to need significant investment. They state themselves that they bought other companies to build their business ("Back in 2006 we shared a vision to create the UK’s best ‘Food to Go’ business and started building Adelie by acquiring some of the best businesses in the industry.")

The sandwich industry is very competitive, with low margins and a low selling price.

To deliver your goods chilled will cost you a large amount or you will have to buy a chilled van and deliver before 9am-10am most mornings, as after this the sandwiches are not as sellable for their 1-3 day shelf life. The major sandwich manufacturers do not bother with cafes or farm shops as the volume they sell will never make them a profit. E.g. Selling 20 sandwiches at a £0.50 profit per day gives them £10 profit per week.

How are you going to make money at this rate? Or how are you going to sell your sandwiches for more than £1.50 wholesale?

A)Cost out what you would need to sell your sandwiches for. Include staff costs, delivery, ingredients, health and safety costs, certification etc etc...

B)Find out what you can sell them for.

C) if A<B make a sale. (This isn't achieved simply by A being <B but you know this)

Go for it.

Disclaimer; I almost never eat sandwiches so unlike op cannot profess to be an expert in the field.
