Need comprehensive SEO help for my website

Like everyone here I have been getting plenty of email offers for SEO assistance from companies offering 'off the shelf' solutions. I have used one or two of these but have been dissapointed with the lack of a 'personal' service.

What I mean is that I get offered different packages that focus on certain keywords that I have to provide, saying that I will get so many blog posts, article posts etc.

Some of my competitors are getting 20 times the number of hits that my site is and I want to close that gap. I know SEO basics but it is certainly not an area of expertise for me. What I need is for someone to look in depth at my site and at one or two of my competitors and come up with an action plan to help increase traffic.

My site is currently being redesigned and will hopefully relaunch in around a month or two. At this stage (once these development costs are out the way) I will be looking to get someone involved with SEO. Can anyone here offer the kind of service I am after?

Stop the redesign right now!

If you want comprehensive SEO you need to start BEFORE any redesign work.

SEO begins right at the core of the site. Even your choice of CMS can affect the how the search engines regard your site.

So stop the redesign and don't even think about relaunch if you want the full SEO monty.

I thought someone might say this. The redesign is almost finished unfourtunately - we are now just putting the finishing touches together and editing content.

The SEO work will have to start with the new site to work with. I appreciate there will need to be some structural changes, in fact this is what I am keen to hear more about.

I would have done it the other way round but the money just wasn't there to do both at once and the site really needed a visual overhaul if any of the new traffic is going to convert.

Absolutely !!!!
Do not launch until you have had a comprehensive assessment of the current site. The amount of times I have seen a site (with good potential) thrown away with a 'redesign'.
