'Foxbuild'..?
It's got the name and what you do
Short and snappy: memorable
Easy to answer phone with
Domain available
There are Fox Builders, and Fox & Son, Builders, but way oop north. Only Fox Builders is in Companies House.

"Southdowns" it has more of an establishment feel...
"bluewave" and such like seem to be more of a passing ly by night

I reckon I would pick that from your list as a customer.

Makes you wonder whether a double barelled name might help
The "permanent" in "leeds permanent" building society had a really good feel to it.

So maybe try some second words that give a feeling of permanence and
robustness

"Southdowns Manor construction" or "Southdowns Vale construction" or
"Southdowns Castle Construction"

Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies...

Am really not sure now which to choose...

I like the fox one as I think its short and catchy...and could be some cool logo's but Southdowns construction is good too...

Then there is Bluefin.... HMMMM

This is not an easy choice is it?

Anymore ideas?

Use a name that is warm and memorable. If you are into Fox , make it RedFox or similar. BTW I will like to do your website :)

I don't believe the name will matter, as long as your product/service is good and your reputation grows.

Hi Mike,

I think Dean is absolutely right - how important is a name.

If you look at the names of many of the successful companies, they don't mean much...as I mentioned in your post in the Marketing & PR forum, it is more about a name that is easily remembered.

Take Dean's "Calypso" company - the name has a nice feel to it, brings back memories of my time in Jamaica, and is easily remembered.

Good luck,
Stephen

Grabbit & Runne Construction ?
Flybie Knight Builders ?
Slappiton Painters and Decorators ?
..........of course I am joking :)

Get a name that is
1. memorable ,
2.makes you feel good and proud
( hey, if your beloved wife's name is Nancy ; doesn't mean though that you should name your business Nancy Builders, gerrit ?)

I am a new member and just seen that you are branching out from your traditional markets.
I operate a lead generating company similar to ABI Barbour and Glenigans but a lot cheaper
